About Us
The office is a general litigation firm, with an emphasis on personal injury cases. Attorney Moynihan has tried numerous injury cases to successful verdicts and has negotiated settlements on wrongful death cases in excess of one million dollars in value.
The office also emphasizes criminal defense, including misdemeanors, felonies and juvenile delinquency offenses. Cases include OUI offenses, assault and battery offenses, domestic violence, criminal motor vehicle offenses, drug charges, license loss cases and other misdemeanor and felony cases.
The office also handles general business litigation cases, including breach of contract cases between individuals and businesses and violations of the consumer Protection Act, as well as probate and divorce cases and various other litigation matters. In addition, the office serves as counsel for the State Police Association of Massachusetts (S.P.A.M.), one of the largest unions in Massachusetts, which includes all Troopers and Sergeants in the Massachusetts State Police.

Dan Moynihan
Attorney Daniel Moynihan was born and raised in Lowell, Mass. He graduated from the University of Lowell after which he went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.
Attorney Moynihan has built a distinguished legal career with extensive trial experience in both civil and criminal law. As a former prosecutor for Middlesex County, he handled hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases, trying them in both District and Superior Courts. His work in public service provided a strong foundation for his later practice in private and corporate law.
For more than 12 years, he served as a Senior Trial Lawyer for an international insurance company in Boston, where he tried hundreds of personal injury cases in state and federal courts, as well as before arbitration panels. In addition to his litigation work, Attorney Moynihan has served as an adjunct faculty member at several colleges, lecturing on criminal law, civil litigation, and other legal topics.

Mark Russell
Attorney Mark Russell has spent the past five years at The Law Office of Daniel J. Moynihan, where he represents members of the State Police Association of Massachusetts in investigations, administrative hearings, and civil rights litigation. His broader legal experience includes personal injury, slip and fall, civil service, and Chapter 93A consumer protection cases, among other areas of law.
Special Education law is a central focus of Mark’s practice. For ten years, he served as a contracted Special Education Hearing Officer for the State of Montana. He continues to support families by working with parent advocacy groups and serving as a court-appointed educational surrogate, guiding students and families through the special education process from early intervention through adulthood.
In 2014, Mark was honored to be nominated by the Montana Judicial Appointment Committee as a finalist for District Court Judge, an acknowledgment of his commitment to justice and public service.

Michelle Pignone
Michelle joined the firm in 2007 and currently serves as the office manager, playing a key role in the daily operations of the practice. In addition to managing the office, she provides essential support to both attorneys, ensuring smooth coordination and efficient case management across a variety of legal matters.
Raised and currently residing in Stoneham, Massachusetts, Michelle is a graduate of Endicott College in Beverly, where she earned her degree in Business Administration. She also attended Salem State University in Salem, furthering her academic foundation in business and legal studies. Her educational background, combined with her practical experience, makes her a vital member of the team.
Before joining the firm, Michelle worked as a paralegal with a focus on civil litigation and family law. She brings over 25 years of experience in a wide range of legal areas, including multi-party tort litigation, complex bodily injury claims, divorce, estate planning, and landlord/tenant disputes. Her expertise and professionalism benefit clients and colleagues alike.
